Personal Digital Assistants, or PDAs, are all the rage these days. I, too, felt the need to move from my paper-based organizer to a truly flexible electronic equivalent. My experience with older electronic organizers
left a bad taste in my mouth, and I couldn’t swear that I’d use a new PDA any more than I’d use the old organizer.
When Fathers’ Day arrived, Bocona and Debbie approached me on the subject: “We know you want a PDA, but we don’t know what kind.” Well, neither did I, really. I thought I wanted a 3com Palm. I was convinced of it.
Then I saw a Handspring Visor.
It runs all of the software the Palm does, pretty much the same way the Palm does, and it was developed by the same guy who developed the Palm for 3com. But it’s expandable, in a way
technically more elegant than methods used by the Palm. I hunted down the web-based reviews. I read them. And I was convinced.
The Handspring Visor is clearly a better choice than the Palm. I bought one. Bocona loved mine so much, I bought her one (a PDA is truly a personal device; you miss it if you try to share
it).
I think you ought to buy one of your own.
